I was born on the northern coast of Germany and settled in Maine many years ago for my love of simplicity and the sea.

I have been passionate about photography all my life and have taken advantage of numerous trips to capture impressions in many parts of the world.

My photographs have been exhibited in several galleries in Maine throughout the years. My photography can be viewed at www.kwasir.org.

I am a founding member of the Maine Photography Show, sponsored by BRAF (Boothbay Region Art Foundation). In order to foster visual art in Maine, I also served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Maine Art Gallery in Wiscasset for several years.

Photo technology is truly secondary to my work. The one thing I specifically care about is fast lenses to avoid artificial lighting, where possible. I use relatively simple equipment and cameras and none of the images are staged.

I generally consider my images as spontaneous snapshots that take advantage of unpredictable moments and light changes.
